ABOUT

Unique is a word that I have always felt closely connected to. It doesn't just mean to be bold and different, it is also a way of interpreting the way in which you see this world.

Growing up as a child I was surrounded by many forms of artistic expression, painters, draftsman and photographers who have  all taught me that it is important not to loose sight of what is dearest to you - the art of creation. Throughout the years I was encouraged continuously to find new methods of interpretation. Often I was found taking and breaking things to make something new. Playing with clay, finger painting and drawing on  walls - all the traditional things a child could be seen doing.

As a young adult I focused on my passion for design by taking an internship as an assistant art director allowing myself to develop a keen eye for colour and placement of beautiful things and gaining comprehensive knowledge of the past, present and future of art. Whilst attending my internship I had had the added bonus of studying Year 12 and using my classes as a guide to my future endeavours. Here I took another step into the the cosmos of creation, studying two of my most beloved subjects, Hyperrealism portraiture and architecture. These two subjects required focussing on the minute detail of every aspect, which I found to transfer well to my current professional field.

After graduating I went on to study a diploma of Interior Design & Decoration and an Associate Degree of Interior Design & Decoration at RMIT University, Melbourne. Durning my time studying I learnt the fundamental of interior design, such as colour and lighting, drafting and joinery, fabric and materials selection. Whilst studying at RMIT, I also found the time to explore more of Melbourne's city streets, absorbing as much of it's quirky culture. From back streets allies to art galleries, orchestras to buskers, market stalls to the couture fashion of Collins Street, I explored it all adding to a repertoire of cultural influence.

Throughout it all, I count myself as having been in the business of creation far longer than my formal training. Twenty one years of practice. From painting and drawing as a child to learning the history of art and design, finding charming things in the strangest of places, I believe that the unique combination of such things gives me the advantage to create beautiful things for you and perhaps the world.
